Once again the event “Embedded Systems” started with about 70 registered students.
The aim of “Embedded Systems” is the development of electronic assistance systems for and together with people with disabilities.
On 1st of October the kick-off event took place. Prof. Dr. Michael Schäfer welcomed the students, project partners, guests, student assistants and scientific staff and gave a general overview of the embedded systems.

Laura Keders, coordinator for service learning and educational innovation at HRW, Aleksandra Konopek of Essen’s University of Fine Arts, and Caroline Hirtz and Sebastian of the Diakonie Bottrop gave deeper insights into the concept afterwards.

Subsequently the student and research assistants introduced themselves to the students as their coaches, so that each group could address their specialists for their respective project ideas.

Afterwards there was time for the groups and their coaches to find each other.

When the pizza was delivered around 18.00h, all teams were complete for a hopefully successful new round of “embedding systems”.

The project results of the past embedded systems can be seen here.
