A regional university with an international outlook

Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences is a public university offering high-quality bachelor’s and master’s programs in computer science, engineering, mathematics, natural sciences and business administration.

All of our innovative study programs have a strong emphasis on practice and real-world application, giving students the opportunity to gain practical experience by working with one of our many local and regional industry partners.

With two brand new, state-of-the-art campuses in the cities of Mülheim an der Ruhr and Bottrop, Ruhr West is located in the heart of the Ruhr area, one of the world’s foremost industrial regions with a population of about 5.3 million.

Enrolling more than 5,600 students from all over Germany and international students from around the world, Ruhr West is a regionally based university with an international outlook.

In addition to the interdisciplinary professional training, great emphasis is put on the intensive and service-orientated support of the students – from the first day on! Students learn valuable soft skills and are comprehensively prepared for their entry into the job market: Well-structured and application-orientated study programs with a practical semester at the end allow effective study within the prescribed period of study.

Essential service facilities such as student service or university library are available in walking distance. As a newly founded institution, the university library relies on digital media on one hand, and easy access to printed works through the most modern technology on the other hand. The Digital Library NRW (DigiBib) provides access to a wide range of digital services, such as databases and e-books. DigiBib also allows you to order books and journal articles that are not available in our library at short notice in other libraries in Germany.
